ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಬಂಗಾಳ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು 2025-26 ರ ಬಜೆಟ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ನದಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶದ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲು, ಗಂಗಾ ಸವೆತವನ್ನು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಲು ಮತ್ತು ವರ್ಧಿತ ನದಿ ಮತ್ತು ಹವಾಮಾನ ಸಂಪರ್ಕದ ಮೂಲಕ ಜೀವನೋಪಾಯದ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಲು “ನದಿ ಜೋಡಣೆ” ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಪರಿಚಯಿಸಿದೆ. ವಿಪತ್ತು ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ಉದ್ಯೋಗ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಗೆ ಆದ್ಯತೆ ನೀಡುವ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ ಮಿಡ್ನಾಪುರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾಹ ನಿಯಂತ್ರಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಘಟಲ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ಒಳಗೊಂಡಿದೆ. “ನದಿ ಬಂಧನ” ಯೋಜನೆಯು ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ವಿಕೋಪಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು, ನದಿ ತೀರದ ಸವೆತವನ್ನು ತಡೆಗಟ್ಟಲು ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಉದ್ಯೋಗವನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸಲು ನದಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಜಲಾಶಯಗಳನ್ನು ಜೋಡಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ಯೋಜನೆಗೆ ₹200 ಕೋಟಿ ಮತ್ತು ಘಟಾಲ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್ ಪ್ಲಾನ್‌ಗೆ ₹1,500 ಕೋಟಿ ಮೀಸಲಿಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ಉಪಕ್ರಮವು ಕೃಷಿ, ಮೀನುಗಾರಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕೃಷಿ ಆಧಾರಿತ ಕೈಗಾರಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀರಿನ ಲಭ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.

Prioritizing disaster management and employment generation, the initiative includes the Ghatal Master Plan for flood control in West Midnapore. The “Nadi Bandhan” scheme will link rivers and reservoirs to curb natural disasters, prevent riverbank erosion, and support local employment. With ₹200 crore allocated for the project and ₹1,500 crore for the Ghatal Master Plan, the initiative will enhance water availability for agriculture, fisheries, and agro-based industries.

February 24th 2025 Current Affairs : Former Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das has been appointed as the second Principal Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, effective from February 22. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment, stating it will continue for the PM’s term or until further orders. Shaktikanta Das succeeds Dr. P.K. Mishra, a Gujarat-cadre IAS officer. Having served as RBI Governor from December 2018 to December 2024, Das retired on December 10. Following his retirement, the central government appointed Sanjay Malhotra as the new RBI Governor. His vast experience in economic and financial policies makes him a key advisor.

February 24th 2025 Current Affairs : Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has been elected as the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly following a meeting of AAP MLAs in New Delhi on February 23. The meeting, attended by 22 MLAs, including Arvind Kejriwal, unanimously chose Atishi for the role. Expressing gratitude, she thanked AAP National Convener Arvind Kejriwal and the legislature party, emphasizing that a strong opposition will raise public concerns and ensure BJP fulfills its promises.
